I strongly believe this book is second only to the Bible in terms of importance to our modern church.  With Paul's clear warning in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 and the apostasy that surrounds us, the church must truly become Jesus' disciples.  Christians must bear the responsibility of Christ and not simply his name.
